FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much will it cost?

It’s always ideal for us to visit your home to determine the cost of your move, as it depends on numerous factors such as packing, access, size of vehicle required, number of staff etc. With this information we can compile an accurate quotation tailored to your individual needs. Please contact us for a FREE quote.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of the UK with our own transport offering full, part and return load services.

How much notice do you require?

It is beneficial for both parties to have removals booked between 14 – 28 days in advance of the removal taking place to ensure that all areas of the removal are covered.

Can I move at the weekend?

Yes. We are able to carry out your removal at any time that is convenient to you. Different days and times may carry a premium to reflect the extra cost of staff.

What size are your vehicles?

We operate a range of vehicles to suit the size of the removal. Please let us know if there is difficult access at either address as this will allow us to plan your move with smaller vehicles or make the necessary arrangements to transship your goods.

How many men will do my removal?

The size of the removal crew is decided by our staff based on the information we have and is usually between two and four men. The decision depends on the amount of goods to move and the overall schedule for your move. We will be responsible for allocating enough staff for your move.

What time will the van arrive?

We aim to be at your address between 8:30am and 9:00am in the morning. If you are moving long distance we will liaise with you and give you an estimated time of arrival.

How long will my removal take?

There are several factors that affect the time it takes to complete a removal, such as the amount of goods and the distance you are moving, but also how close to the property the vans can park. Try to inform us of anything that may happen or be different on the day of your removal, even if it does not seem that important.

Who does the packing?

You can choose. If we do the packing we will need to allow a longer period to do this, and it is often beneficial if the majority is done before removals day. This will be reflected in the price. Alternatively, you can decide to do the packing yourself, either with boxes sourced elsewhere or supplied by us.

Do you dismantle and re-assemble my bed, wardrobe etc.?

Unless this was agreed at the quotation stage, then all items needing dismantling are expected to be dismantled and ready to move prior to our arrival. If agreed at the quotation stage our staff will carry out dismantling and re-assembling to the best of their ability. It is essential that we know what is required at the quotation stage to allow for the necessary resources and equipment to be provided.

Do I need to empty my chest of drawers?

Providing the unit is sturdy enough then light items such as clothing, bedding etc. can be left in. Please remove any books, magazines, heavy or breakable items etc. Self assembly furniture does not respond well to moving so this type of furniture must only be moved while completely empty.

What should I do with my gas cylinders or flammable liquids?

Gas cylinders cannot be transported on our vehicles. Flammable liquids, however contained, must not be submitted for removal either. These items are not covered under our insurance, and other arrangements must be made. Equipment such as garden mowers and chainsaws should be drained of all liquids beforehand. It is imperative that paint is not submitted into the vehicles for removal as any spillages of this sort are again not covered by our insurance. Please ask your removal surveyor to advise you of any other goods that you are not sure of.

Will you empty my loft?

Unless the loft has a fitted staircase, is boarded out and lit, our insurance does not cover our staff for this activity. Unless agreed with your surveyor to assist you in emptying a loft without the previous requirements we would expect the loft to be empty prior to our arrival.

Do I have to arrange parking?

If parking is difficult outside your property or there are restrictions, you will need to contact your local council and organise parking. We can advise how much room or time will be required to carry out your removal. Any parking fines incurred will be added to your final bill and be paid by you.

Does my furniture get placed to my requirements?

It is always best if you have a clear idea of where you want your furniture to be placed. Our staff will endeavour to arrange the rooms to your liking but will not have the time to continually rearrange your room.

Can you arrange storage?

Yes. Some or all of the contents of your property can be placed in storage for any period. Please let us know your requirements.

Are my goods insured?

Yes, your goods will be covered by insurance during your removal and during storage.

How and when do I pay for my removal?

Once you have accepted our quote, we require full payment before or on the morning of your removal. This can be paid via cheque or bank transfer (BACS).
